Urban daily life waste in china is mostly disposed by environment authorities. Environment authorities have to pay in every step from gathering , transportation to final disposal.

The cost of disposal is around 200 RMB per ton, which is almost the price of per gram of gold. This is pure non-profit cost. For the time being, there is averagely more the 500Kilogram daily waste from each person. The total amount of daily life waste is as large as 100million ton every year. It is can be seen from the satellite images that most cities are surrounded by garbage. If the waste is disposed everywhere in china by the standard of Beijing, the total expense solely on waste disposal will be as high as 20billion, the price of 100ton gold. Wealth is wasted as well as it is created.

The modernization of china in the past decades is really fast while it is slow for us to settle the problem brought by no matter industrial waste or daily life waste due to the amount which is like never before.

The modernization of china in the past decades is really fast while it is slow for us to settle the problem brought by no matter industrial waste or daily life waste due to the amount which is like never before.

Urban daily life waste is disposed mostly in three methods worldwide, in which the simplest and the most primitive methods will be natural burial. But many problems come along with natural burial. Almost ten years ago, an explosion came from nowhere in the middle of a grand game in a gym in California. There were merely terrors at that time in USA. It was known after investigation that the gym was built on a place used to be a waste burial ground many years ago. Buried waste rotted and gave out large amount of methane which caused the explosion duo to some sparks from the game.

Natural burial has been a major method of daily waste disposal in many cities for a long time, which is fading away in china as the economy develops. For instance, the waste burial in Beijing now is very close to what is used in many developed countries , called “ hygienic burial”. For this method, there are special materials separating the waste from the soil, special ditch collecting liquid from the waste, and special ventilation letting out methane given out by the rotten waste. But there are also problems of the hygienic burial - - high cost and short life-span. One hygienic burial ground can last only 15years. Big cities like Beijing will need 5 hygienic burial ground working at the same time. The so-called 15 years life-span means it is totally stuffed, when Authorities will sealed the burial ground with green area on the top. Thus, when u see a sudden green area near the city, you’ll know there likely used to be a burial ground who had accomplished its mission. But, only a few cities as wealthy as Beijing can afford such burial ground, so hygienic burial, the innocent processing of waste, takes only 30% of all the waste disposal, while it takes 90% in European developed country.

There are very much daily life waste composing compound ingredient hard to naturally degenerate like plastic. So, it’ll need hundreds of years for the burial ground to recover to natural status, and the result is yet to be seen till then. There is a very odd archeology in America. Scientists drill into the waste burial ground vertically to see how the life become different as every centimeter deeper.

The most advanced daily life disposal method in developed country is cremation. Garbage cremation can greatly reduce the occupancy of land. But there are still serious problems. Dioxin pollution would be the most infamous one. Dioxin is a very dangerous carcinogenic ingredient formed during cremation. Classification would be another problem because not all the garbage can be burnt. What is the most important is the unaffordable cost of cremation to poor country.

Nowadays in china, medical garbage is compulsorily burnt. But the incinerators of many hospital are too simple due the lack of money for better ones. Once it was reported that many human body parts were found in a hill by someone travelling in the hill who thought he found a murder case and called the police. Later it was clear that these human body parts are buried here by a hospital because of the unaffordable cost of cremation.

At the present time, garbage cremation is implemented in some place of china. The pretext for cremation is the classification of garbage, which is well done in Shanghai. One the other hand, garbage cremation can generate electricity. So, though costly, it can counteract some expense more or less.
