Heaven Lake

Heaven Lake is located in the northern slope of  Mountain Bogda, which is east to Mountain Tianshan.  The lake is 1900 meters above sea level, with the depth of up to 90 meters, the width of up to 1500 meters between its eastern and western shores, and the area of total 4.9 square kilometers. The lake is so exotic that it becomes one of the most famous traveling spots in the northwestern China, which atrracts the tourists all over the world in the endless stream.

The surface is shinning like a mirror, and the scenario is so charming. Heaven Lake looks like a huge glittering and translucent sapphire. Together with the surrounding mysterious peaks, ridges, ice gate as well as the sparkling and skyscrapping Mountain Bogda, the lake depicts a paradise which seems unreal in reality.

Kanas Lake

"Kanas Lake" is the lake's Mongolian name, which means "a beautiful,abundant and mysterious lake".

Kanas Lake possesses an European eco-system which is quite rare in China. In the reserve area, there are 789 kinds of plants, among which, 30 kinds are rare ones, 39 kinds of beasts, 117 kinds of birds and 7 kinds of fishes.5 kinds of  National Class 1 protection animals, and 13 kinds of National Calss 2 protection animals live there, with other 9 kinds of rare aninals.

More than 60 new species of insects and fungus are recorded to live there. As the unique extension of Siberian Taiga Forest, Kanas Lake is the only distribution region of animals and plants in Siberian of North Europe. It is also the source of  the biggest branch of Irtysh, China's only Water belonging to the Arctic Water , the only settlement of Tuva Mongolian people and it encompasses the lowest mountain glaciers in China.
