| Golden Monkeys in China |
|
A group of photos featuring the amusing facial expressions of the wild golden monkeys published on Xinhuanet.com has revealed the rarely captured daily life of the treasured species.
Over 1200 golden monkeys inhabit the Shennongjia National Nature Reserve along the western edge of Hubei province. The animal is listed in the category of Appendix I of International Trade Convention on Endangered Wild Animal and Plant Species. It's hard to capture the golden monkeys in photos as they are lively and mischievous. Gu Haiqing, author of the photos is a naturalist and he has spent a long time observing and becoming familiar with the animals just to capture their varied expressions in an instant.
