Copper Coin Cellar of Liao Dynasty Relics Found in China's Inner Mongolia

One copper coin cellar is found in a farm yard, Balin Left Banner in Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region of China. There is a considerable number of copper coins in cellar.

Archaeologist initial estimates the age of the coin might be Liao Dynasty.

According to survey, the depth of the cellar is around 25cm. A ceramic pot, filled with lots of copper coin, was covered with two irregular stones. A part of coins are connected with a rope, laid neat and tidy. The ceramic pot was cracked by squeeze.

The cellar located in Nan Goutun Village, thirteen Obo Town. Ceramics, bricks,tile and porcelain fragment are scattered around this area, which must be a big size Liao Dynasty Relics. Nan Goutun Village just locates in the relics.

At present, local cultural and historical relics department is clearing the cellar. It is estimated that there might be 30,000 copper coins.
